Overview of the medicine
Oasis-03 Eye Gel is an ophthalmic lubricant containing Carbomer 0.3% that provides prolonged relief from dry eyes by forming a protective moisturizing film on the ocular surface. It helps to alleviate symptoms like irritation, burning, and discomfort.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Instill one drop into the conjunctival sac 3-4 times daily, or as directed by a physician.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage.
Renal_impairment
No dose adjustment required.
How to Take
For ophthalmic use only. Tilt head back, pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch, instill one drop into the pouch, and close the eye gently. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination. If other eye drops are used, wait at least 5-10 minutes between applications.
Mechanism of Action
Carbomer is a high molecular weight polyacrylic acid polymer. When applied to the eye, it forms a clear, lubricating, and protective film on the ocular surface. It works by increasing the viscosity of the tear film, thereby prolonging the contact time of the aqueous solution with the eye and augmenting the tear film stability. This helps in retaining moisture and reducing irritation associated with dry eyes.
