Description
Overview of the medicine
Olarif-01 Eye Drop contains Olopatadine, an antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer, used for the temporary prevention of itching of the eye due to allergic conjunctivitis.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
One drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily (every 6 to 8 hours), approximately 6 to 8 hours apart.
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment required for elderly patients.
Renal_impairment
No specific dosage adjustment required for patients with renal impairment.
How to Take
For ocular use only. Tilt head back, pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch. Squeeze a single drop into the pouch. Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or any other surface.
Mechanism of Action
Olopatadine acts as a selective histamine H1-receptor antagonist and also inhibits histamine release from mast cells, thereby preventing the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.
