Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Initial dose 20 mg once daily, may be increased to 60 mg daily for certain conditions or if needed, usually taken in the morning.
Elderly
Lower initial doses (e.g., 10-20 mg daily) are recommended, with careful titration due to increased sensitivity.

- Concomitant use with thioridazine or pimozide

Risk of serotonin syndrome (hyperthermia, rigidity, myoclonus, autonomic instability, mental status changes).
Warfarin
Potentiates anticoagulant effect, leading to increased bleeding risk.
Linezolid

Benzodiazepines
Increased plasma concentrations of some benzodiazepines.
Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCAs)
Increased plasma levels of TCAs, potentially leading to increased side effects.
