Description
Overview of the medicine
Pulmobi 801 mg tablet is a novel medication primarily indicated for the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and severe asthma. It combines potent bronchodilatory effects with significant anti-inflammatory actions to improve lung function and reduce exacerbations.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
One 801 mg tablet once daily.
Elderly
No dose adjustment typically required, but monitor for adverse effects.
Renal_impairment
Mild to moderate impairment: No adjustment. Severe impairment: Use with caution, consider dose reduction.
How to Take
Take orally with water, preferably at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Pulmobi 801 mg works by selectively activating beta-2 adrenergic receptors in the bronchial smooth muscle, leading to bronchodilation. Additionally, it inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory mediators and downregulates inflammatory pathways, thereby reducing airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Onset of bronchodilation within 30 minutes.
Excretion
Mainly excreted renally (60%) with some fecal excretion (40%).
Half life
Approximately 12-18 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, with peak plasma concentrations reached within 1-2 hours.
Metabolism
Primarily metabolized in the liver via CYP3A4 and glucuronidation pathways.
