Eperisone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant used for the symptomatic treatment of muscle spasm and spasticity, often associated with various musculoskeletal conditions.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Usually 10 mg three times daily after meals, or as directed by physician. Dosage may be adjusted based on symptoms.
Elderly
No specific dose adjustment is usually required, but caution should be exercised. Start with a lower dose.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution. Dose adjustment may be necessary in severe renal impairment.
How to Take
Swallow the tablet whole with water after meals. Do not chew or crush.
Mechanism of Action
Eperisone acts by relaxing skeletal muscles through action on the central nervous system, mainly by inhibiting the activity of gamma-motor neurons and acting on the spinal cord. It also exhibits vasodilator effects.
