Roxinat 750 mg Injection is for intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) administration only. It should be reconstituted with the appropriate solvent (e.g., Water for Injection) as per manufacturer's instructions and administered by a healthcare professional.

Cefuroxime is a bactericidal antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall, which prevents the cross-linking of peptidoglycan units, leading to inhibition of cell wall formation and subsequent bacterial cell lysis.

• Known hypersensitivity to cefuroxime or any other cephalosporin antibiotics.
• History of severe hypersensitivity (e.g., anaphylactic reaction) to any other type of beta-lactam antibacterial agent (e.g., penicillins, carbapenems, monobactams).

Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Overdose of cefuroxime can lead to neurological sequelae including convulsions. Management should be symptomatic and supportive. Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis can effectively remove cefuroxime from the body.

Pregnancy Category B. Studies in animals have shown no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus, but there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Use during pregnancy should be considered only if clearly needed. Cefuroxime is excreted in breast milk in small amounts; caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing woman.
