Description
Overview of the medicine
Seberb 250 mg Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against a wide range of bacterial infections, including those affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
250 mg to 500 mg orally twice daily, depending on the severity and type of infection. Treatment duration typically 7-10 days.
Elderly
No specific dose adjustment required for elderly patients with normal renal function. Monitor renal function closely.
Renal_impairment
For creatinine clearance <30 mL/min, reduce dose to 250 mg once daily or as advised by physician. Not recommended for severe renal failure.
How to Take
Take the tablet orally with a glass of water, with or without food. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed, even if symptoms improve.
Mechanism of Action
Seberb acts by selectively binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis and consequently bacterial growth. This leads to a bacteriostatic effect.

Mainly excreted unchanged in urine (60-70%) and some via bile.
Half life
