Description
Overview of the medicine
Sebionex.K is a keratoregulating gel/cream designed for oily, blemish-prone skin. It contains a combination of AHAs (Glycolic Acid) and BHAs (Salicylic Acid) to help exfoliate, reduce sebum, unblock pores, and prevent the formation of new imperfections. It helps to smooth the skin texture and reduce shine.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Apply once or twice daily to clean, dry skin on the affected areas. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment required for elderly, follow adult dosage.
Renal_impairment
No specific dosage adjustment required as systemic absorption is minimal.
How to Take
For external use only. Apply to clean, dry skin after cleansing. Gently massage until fully absorbed. Wash hands after application.
Mechanism of Action
Glycolic Acid (AHA) exfoliates the skin surface by loosening dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover. Salicylic Acid (BHA) is oil-soluble, allowing it to penetrate into pores to dissolve sebum and dead skin cells, thereby unclogging pores and reducing inflammation. This combined action helps to regulate keratinization, reduce hyperkeratosis, control sebum production, and prevent the formation of blackheads and acne lesions.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Local effects typically visible within days to weeks of consistent use, with improvement in skin texture and reduction in blemishes.
Excretion
Not applicable for significant systemic excretion. Any absorbed components are typically excreted renally.
Half life
Not applicable for topical products with minimal systemic absorption.
Absorption
Minimal systemic absorption when applied topically to intact skin. Primarily acts locally.
Metabolism
Minimal systemic metabolism. Active ingredients may undergo local enzymatic breakdown on the skin.

Doctor Notes
- Advise patients to start with gradual application (e.g., every other day) if they have sensitive skin.
- Emphasize the importance of daily broad-spectrum sunscreen use due to increased photosensitivity.
- Counsel patients on expected side effects (mild tingling, peeling) and when to seek medical advice (severe irritation, allergic reaction).
- Ensure patients understand it's a dermocosmetic product for skin management, not a pharmaceutical drug for severe acne without other treatments.
Patient Guidelines
- Cleanse skin thoroughly before application.
