Description
Overview of the medicine
Adapalene is a topical retinoid primarily used to treat acne vulgaris. It works by affecting cell growth in hair follicles and reducing inflammation.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Apply a thin layer to affected areas once daily in the evening.
Elderly
Same as adults, no specific adjustment needed.

How to Take
For topical dermatological use only. Apply a thin film to the entire affected area of the face and other areas of the skin where acne lesions appear, once daily in the evening.
Mechanism of Action
Adapalene modulates cellular differentiation, keratinization, and inflammatory processes. It binds to specific retinoic acid nuclear receptors, but not to the cytosolic receptor protein. It normalizes differentiation of follicular epithelial cells, resulting in decreased microcomedone formation. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.
