For external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area after washing hands. Wash hands again after application unless hands are the treated area. The treated area may be covered with gauze dressing if desired.

Mupirocin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by reversibly binding to bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, thereby preventing the incorporation of isoleucine into proteins.

Store below 25°C, protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.

Overdose is unlikely with topical application. If the ointment is accidentally ingested, seek medical advice. No specific antidote is available.

Pregnancy Category B. Studies in animals have not shown harm to the fetus. Use only if clearly needed and after consulting a doctor. Minimal systemic absorption suggests low risk during lactation, but caution is advised.
