How to Take

Mechanism of Action
Sulbulin acts as a dual-action agent. It selectively binds to sigma-1 receptors in the brain, modulating the cough reflex center, thereby reducing cough frequency and intensity. Additionally, it has a mucolytic effect by breaking down mucopolysaccharide fibers in bronchial secretions, leading to thinner, less viscous mucus that is easier to clear.

Excretion
Mainly excreted through urine as metabolites; a small portion is excreted unchanged.

Rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract; peak plasma concentrations reached within 1-2 hours.
Metabolism
Primarily metabolized in the liver via CYP450 enzymes.
