Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
80 mg intramuscularly or by slow intravenous infusion every 8-12 hours, as directed by physician.
Elderly
Lower initial dose and careful monitoring is recommended due to potential for reduced renal function.

How to Take

Drug Interactions
Corticosteroids

Storage

Overdose
Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, lethargy, drowsiness, or coma. Management is symptomatic and supportive; consider gastric lavage and activated charcoal if overdose is recent.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Not recommended in the third trimester of pregnancy due to risk of premature closure of the ductus arteriosus. Use with caution in other trimesters and during lactation only if the potential benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus/infant.
