U4-05-mg-tablet is an antihistamine medication used to relieve symptoms of allergic conditions such as hay fever, allergic rhinitis, and chronic urticaria. It helps to reduce itching, sneezing, and runny nose.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Adults and adolescents (12 years and above): 0.5 mg once daily, preferably in the evening.
Elderly
Elderly patients with normal renal function may follow adult dosage. Dose adjustment needed for renal impairment.
Renal_impairment
Moderate renal impairment (CrCl 30-49 mL/min): 0.5 mg every other day. Severe renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min): Contraindicated.
How to Take
Take the tablet orally with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet; swallow it whole with water.
Mechanism of Action
U4-05-mg-tablet works by selectively blocking H1 histamine receptors, thereby preventing histamine from binding to these receptors. This action reduces the allergic response mediated by histamine, such as vasodilation, increased capillary permeability, and smooth muscle contraction, leading to relief from allergic symptoms.

Contraindications

- End-stage renal disease (CrCl < 10 mL/min) or patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Ritonavir
May increase plasma concentrations of U4-05-mg-tablet. Close monitoring for adverse effects is recommended.
Central Nervous System Depressants (e.g., alcohol, sedatives)
May increase the risk of drowsiness and CNS depression. Concurrent use should be avoided or monitored carefully.

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
