Description
Overview of the medicine
Xinoplex Syrup is a comprehensive multivitamin and multimineral supplement designed to provide essential nutrients for overall health and well-being. It helps to cover nutritional gaps, support immune function, bone health, and energy metabolism.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) once daily or as directed by a physician.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage, or as directed by a physician.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution in severe renal impairment due to mineral content. Consult a physician.
How to Take
Oral administration. Can be taken with or without food. For best absorption, it is often recommended to take with a meal.
Mechanism of Action
Provides essential vitamins and minerals that act as cofactors for various enzymatic reactions, support cellular functions, immune response, and maintain physiological balance. Vitamins like B-complex are crucial for energy production, Vitamin C for immune support, and minerals like Zinc and Iron for growth and development.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Nutritional effects are gradual and sustained, typically noticeable after consistent use for several weeks.
Excretion
Water-soluble vitamins and some minerals are primarily excreted renally. Fat-soluble vitamins and certain minerals are excreted via bile in feces.
Half life
Highly variable depending on the specific vitamin or mineral. Water-soluble vitamins have short half-lives (hours) while fat-soluble vitamins and minerals can have longer retention times.
Absorption
Vitamins and minerals are absorbed via various mechanisms in the gastrointestinal tract, primarily in the small intestine. Bioavailability varies for each nutrient, influenced by dietary factors and individual health status.
Metabolism
Water-soluble vitamins are generally not metabolized extensively and excess is excreted. Fat-soluble vitamins are metabolized in the liver. Minerals are integrated into physiological processes.
Side Effects
Contraindications
- •Hypersensitivity to any component of the syrup
- •Hypervitaminosis (especially with fat-soluble vitamins)
- •Severe kidney or liver disease without medical supervision
- •Hemochromatosis (iron overload disorder)
Drug Interactions
Anticoagulants (e.g., Warfarin)
High doses of Vitamin K (if present) or Vitamin E can potentially alter anticoagulant effects. Monitor INR closely if taking both.
Diuretics (e.g., Thiazide diuretics)
Some diuretics can increase excretion of certain minerals (e.g., Magnesium, Potassium) or decrease others (e.g., Calcium).
Thyroid hormones (e.g., Levothyroxine)
Calcium and Iron can impair the absorption of thyroid hormones. Take Xinoplex Syrup several hours apart from thyroid medications.
Certain antibiotics (e.g., Tetracyclines, Fluoroquinolones)
Minerals like Zinc and Iron can interfere with the absorption of these antibiotics. Take Xinoplex Syrup at least 2 hours before or 4-6 hours after these antibiotics.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light. Do not freeze.
Overdose
Overdose is rare with multivitamin/multimineral syrups but can lead to hypervitaminosis (especially with fat-soluble vitamins like A, D) or mineral toxicity (e.g., iron overdose can be serious). Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache. In case of suspected overdose, seek immediate medical attention.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Generally safe when taken at recommended doses as a supplement. However, consult a physician before use during pregnancy and lactation to ensure appropriate dosing and avoid potential overconsumption of certain vitamins (e.g., Vitamin A).
