Zenifor 500 mg Tablet is a macrolide antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, skin infections, and sexually transmitted diseases.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Typical dose is 500 mg once daily for 3 days, or 500 mg on day 1 followed by 250 mg once daily for 4 days.
Elderly
No dosage adjustment required for elderly patients with normal renal and hepatic function.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment required for mild to moderate renal impairment. Use with caution in severe renal impairment.
How to Take
Take orally with or without food. Can be taken as a single daily dose.
Mechanism of Action
Azithromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby blocking the translocation of peptides.
