Acitrin 5 mg syrup contains Cetirizine Hydrochloride, an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergic conditions such as hay fever, conjunctivitis, and skin rashes. It is primarily used for children and adolescents.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Adults and adolescents 12 years and older: 10 mg (10 ml) once daily, usually with a 10 mg tablet, or 5 ml (5 mg) twice daily for syrup. Children 6-11 years: 5 mg (5 ml) once daily. Children 2-5 years: 2.5 mg (2.5 ml) once daily; may be increased to 5 mg (5 ml) once daily in divided doses or as a single dose. Infants under 2 years: Consult a pediatrician.
Elderly
No dose adjustment required in elderly patients with normal renal function. For renal impairment, see below.
Renal_impairment
Moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 31-50 ml/min): 5 mg (5 ml) once daily. Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 ml/min): 5 mg (5 ml) every other day.
How to Take
Oral administration. Measure the dose accurately using the provided measuring spoon or oral syringe. Can be taken with or without food.
