Albendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic used to treat various worm infestations.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
400 mg as a single dose. May be repeated after 2 weeks if infection persists.
Elderly

Mechanism of Action
Albendazole inhibits tubulin polymerization by binding to the colchicine-sensitive site of β-tubulin, resulting in the disruption of microtubules. This causes inhibition of glucose uptake by the worm, leading to its eventual death.
