Overview of the medicine
Olopatadine nasal spray is an antihistamine used for the relief of nasal symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis in patients aged 6 years and older.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Two sprays per nostril, twice daily. Each spray delivers 665 mcg of olopatadine.
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment required.

How to Take
For intranasal use only. Prime the pump (5-6 sprays) until a fine mist appears before first use or after 7 days of non-use. Blow nose gently before use. Tilt head slightly forward, insert nozzle into nostril, and spray. Repeat for other nostril.
Mechanism of Action
Olopatadine is a selective H1-receptor antagonist that also inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells. It reduces allergic reactions by blocking histamine's effects.
