Mechanism of Action

- Hypersensitivity to levocetirizine, cetirizine, or any other piperazine derivatives, or to any of the excipients.
- Patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 10 mL/min).
- Breast-feeding women (relative contraindication for general use, though this is a pediatric formulation).
Drug Interactions
Ritonavir
May increase plasma concentrations of levocetirizine, potentially leading to increased adverse effects. Dose adjustment may be necessary.
CNS Depressants and Alcohol
Concurrent use may cause additive central nervous system (CNS) depression, leading to increased drowsiness or impaired psychomotor performance.
