Description
Overview of the medicine
Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent used to treat respiratory diseases associated with viscid or excessive mucus. It helps to thin and loosen mucus in the airways, making it easier to cough up.

How to Take
Administer orally, preferably with food. Use the provided dropper for accurate dosing. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Mechanism of Action

Drug Interactions
Antitussives (cough suppressants)
Concomitant use may lead to a build-up of secretions due to the impaired cough reflex.
Antibiotics (e.g., amoxicillin, cefuroxime, erythromycin, doxycycline)
Ambroxol may increase the penetration of these antibiotics into bronchial secretions.
Storage
Store below 30°C, away from light and moisture. Do not freeze.
Overdose
Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and epigastric pain. Management is primarily supportive and symptomatic. Gastric lavage and induced emesis are generally not required.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Ambroxol crosses the placental barrier. While studies show no direct harmful effects on pregnancy, it's generally not recommended during the first trimester. Use in later trimesters and during lactation only if clearly necessary and under medical supervision. Ambroxol is excreted in breast milk.
