Administer orally, usually every 8 hours (three times daily) or as directed by the physician. Shake the suspension bottle well before each use. Can be taken with or without food.

Amoxicillin works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to bacterial cell lysis and death. It is bactericidal.

• •Known hypersensitivity to penicillin antibiotics or any component of the formulation.
• •History of severe allergic reaction (e.g., anaphylaxis) to any beta-lactam antibiotic.
• •Infectious mononucleosis (may cause rash).

Store dry powder below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Once reconstituted, store in a refrigerator (2-8°C) and do not freeze.

Symptoms of overdose may include gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), fluid and electrolyte imbalance, and crystalluria (renal failure in severe cases). Treatment is supportive and symptomatic; hemodialysis may be used to remove amoxicillin from circulation.

Pregnancy Category B. Studies in animals have shown no evidence of harm to the fetus, but there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Use only if clearly needed. Amoxicillin is excreted in breast milk; use with caution in nursing mothers.
