Cirizin

Cirizin 10 mg tablet is taken orally, with or without food. It can be taken at any time of day, but typically once daily.

Cetirizine selectively inhibits peripheral H1 receptors, preventing histamine from binding and thus reducing allergic symptoms like itching, sneezing, and watery eyes. It has minimal sedative effects due to its inability to readily cross the blood-brain barrier.

• Known hypersensitivity to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, or any piperazine derivatives.
• Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 10 mL/min).

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, tachycardia, tremor, headache, and urinary retention. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. Gastric lavage may be considered if recent ingestion.

Pregnancy Category B. Studies in animals have shown no evidence of harm to the fetus, but there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Use only if clearly needed. Cetirizine is excreted in human breast milk; use with caution in breastfeeding mothers.
