Administer orally, with or without food. Use a measuring spoon or oral syringe to ensure accurate dosing, especially for children.

Desloratadine is a long-acting tricyclic antihistamine with selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist activity. It inhibits histamine release and other pro-inflammatory mediators from mast cells.

• •Hypersensitivity to desloratadine, loratadine, or any component of the formulation.
• •Patients with severe kidney or liver disease (use with caution and dose adjustment)

Store at room temperature (below 30°C), protected from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.

Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, tachycardia, and headache. In the event of an overdose, symptomatic and supportive treatment should be initiated as clinically indicated. Desloratadine is not effectively removed by hemodialysis.

Pregnancy Category C. Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Desloratadine passes into breast milk, so caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing woman.
