Editoren 400 mg Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the relief of pain, inflammation, and fever.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Oral, 400 mg every 8-12 hours, as needed. Maximum 1200 mg in 24 hours.
Elderly
Lower doses may be required; consult a doctor. Max 800 mg in 24 hours.

How to Take
Take the tablet orally with a full glass of water, preferably with or after food to minimize gastrointestinal upset.
Mechanism of Action
Editoren works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, chemical messengers that cause pain, fever, and inflammation. It achieves this by blocking cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, COX-1 and COX-2.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
30-60 minutes for analgesic and antipyretic effects.
Excretion
Mainly excreted in urine (about 50-60% as metabolites and less than 1% as unchanged drug); some excretion in feces.
Half life
Approximately 2-4 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly and well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract; peak plasma concentrations reached within 1-2 hours.
Metabolism
Primarily metabolized in the liver by oxidation and glucuronidation.
Side Effects
Contraindications
- •Hypersensitivity to Editoren or other NSAIDs (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen)
- •Active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding
- •Severe renal or hepatic impairment
- •Severe heart failure
- •Third trimester of pregnancy
Drug Interactions
Lithium
Increased plasma lithium levels, leading to toxicity.
Corticosteroids
Increased risk of gastrointestinal ulceration and bleeding.
Diuretics and ACE inhibitors
Reduced efficacy of these drugs and increased risk of renal impairment.
Anticoagulants (e.g., Warfarin)
Increased risk of bleeding.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, lethargy, drowsiness, and central nervous system depression. Severe cases may lead to renal failure, hypotension, respiratory depression, and coma. Management involves symptomatic and supportive treatment; there is no specific antidote.
