Feminor is a synthetic progestogen used in various gynecological conditions including menstrual disorders, endometriosis, and as a component of hormone replacement therapy.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
For menstrual disorders: 5 mg 2-3 times daily from day 5 to day 25 of the cycle. For endometriosis: 5-10 mg daily continuously for 6-9 months.
Elderly
Dosage adjustments generally not required, but caution with liver/kidney impairment.

How to Take
Oral administration with water, with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Norethisterone acts by mimicking the effects of natural progesterone, primarily on the endometrium, inhibiting the release of gonadotropins (LH and FSH) and preventing ovulation. It also causes decidualization of the endometrium, making it unsuitable for implantation.
