Description
Overview of the medicine
Losucon M Cream contains Mometasone Furoate, a potent synthetic corticosteroid, and Fusidic Acid, a potent topical antibiotic. It is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions where bacterial infection is present or likely to occur.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Apply a thin film of cream to the affected skin areas once or twice daily.
Elderly
No special dosage adjustment required for elderly patients.
Renal_impairment
No special dosage adjustment required for renal impairment as systemic absorption is minimal.
How to Take
Apply a thin layer to the affected area of the skin. Wash hands before and after application. Avoid contact with eyes.
Mechanism of Action
Mometasone Furoate is a potent corticosteroid that inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators. Fusidic Acid is a bacteriostatic or bactericidal antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by interfering with aminoacyl-tRNA transfer to the ribosome.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Clinical improvement typically seen within a few days of initiation.
Excretion
Mometasone Furoate metabolites are excreted via urine and feces. Fusidic Acid is primarily excreted in the bile with some renal excretion.
Half life
Not definitively established for topical application; systemic half-life of Mometasone is approximately 5.8 hours, Fusidic Acid around 1.3 hours (systemic).
Absorption
Minimal systemic absorption of Mometasone Furoate and Fusidic Acid when applied topically to intact skin. Absorption may increase with occlusive dressings or damaged skin.
Metabolism
Mometasone Furoate is extensively metabolized in the liver to inactive metabolites. Fusidic Acid is primarily metabolized in the liver.
Side Effects
Contraindications
- •Hypersensitivity to Mometasone Furoate, Fusidic Acid, or any excipients
- •Viral skin infections (e.g., herpes simplex, varicella)
- •Fungal skin infections

1
Avoid concomitant use of other topical corticosteroids or antibiotics unless advised by a doctor.
Storage
Store below 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze.
Overdose
Systemic overdose is unlikely with topical application. However, prolonged or excessive use may lead to systemic corticosteroid effects like HPA axis suppression or Cushing's syndrome symptoms. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Use during pregnancy and lactation only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus or infant. Consult a doctor before use.
