Overview of the medicine
Maxilax 10 gm Oral Solution contains Polyethylene Glycol 3350, an osmotic laxative used for the symptomatic treatment of constipation in adults and children aged 8 years and above.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
1-2 sachets (10-20 gm) daily, preferably in the morning. Adjust dose according to response.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage, but start with lower dose if sensitive. Adjust dose according to response.

How to Take
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in about 125 ml (half a glass) of water and drink. Take preferably in the morning. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Mechanism of Action
Polyethylene Glycol 3350 acts by retaining water in the colon, thereby increasing stool volume and softening the feces. This facilitates easier bowel movements and alleviates constipation.

Metabolism
Not metabolized by the body or intestinal flora.
