Clobetasol Propionate is a corticosteroid that works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, and itching. It inhibits the release of various inflammatory mediators and suppresses the immune response.

Topical overdose is unlikely to cause acute systemic problems. Chronic overdose or misuse can lead to Cushing's syndrome symptoms or local skin atrophy. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive; gradual withdrawal if systemic effects occur.

Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. Consult a doctor. Caution is advised during lactation; it is not known whether topical clobetasol is excreted in human milk.
