Description
Overview of the medicine
Myoson 100 mg Tablet contains Tolperisone Hydrochloride, a centrally acting muscle relaxant used to treat increased tone of skeletal muscles due to neurological disorders or musculoskeletal conditions.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Usually 50-150 mg three times daily, depending on individual response and tolerability. Starting dose often 50 mg three times daily, increasing gradually.

How to Take
Oral. Taken with food to increase bioavailability and reduce gastrointestinal upset. Swallow whole with a glass of water.
Mechanism of Action
Tolperisone acts on the central nervous system to reduce muscle tone without causing sedation. It primarily acts on the spinal cord by inhibiting voltage-gated sodium and calcium channels, which leads to a decrease in the release of excitatory neurotransmitters.

Rapid, generally within an hour.
Excretion
Primarily via the kidneys as metabolites.
Half life
Approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Peak plasma concentrations are reached within 0.5-1.5 hours.
Metabolism
Extensively metabolized in the liver (primarily via CYP2B6, CYP2D6, CYP1A2, CYP3A4) and kidneys.
