Myrica 75 mg Capsule contains Pregabalin, used to treat neuropathic pain, epilepsy, and generalized anxiety disorder. It works by calming overactive nerves.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Initial dose 75 mg twice daily or 50 mg three times daily. May be increased to 150 mg twice daily within 1 week, maximum 300 mg twice daily.
Elderly
Dose adjustment may be necessary due to potential age-related decrease in renal function. Start with a lower dose.
Renal_impairment
Reduced dosage recommended based on creatinine clearance (e.g., 25-50 mg daily for CrCl 30-60 mL/min).
How to Take
Oral, with or without food. Swallow whole with water.
Mechanism of Action
Pregabalin binds to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, reducing the release of several excitatory neurotransmitters.

Side Effects
Contraindications
- •Hypersensitivity to Pregabalin or any component of the formulation.
- •Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.
Drug Interactions
ACE inhibitors
May increase the risk of angioedema (swelling of face, lips, tongue, throat).
Opioids, Benzodiazepines, Ethanol
May enhance CNS depressant effects like drowsiness and reduced alertness.
Thiazolidinediones (e.g., pioglitazone)
May increase risk of weight gain and peripheral edema.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Symptoms include somnolence, confusion, agitation, and rarely coma. Management is supportive and may involve gastric lavage or hemodialysis if necessary.
Pregnancy & Lactation
