Description
Overview of the medicine
Relaxo-50-mg-capsule is an anxiolytic medication used to manage anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and short-term relief of symptoms of anxiety. It helps calm the brain and nerves.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Typical starting dose is 25 mg to 50 mg once daily, adjusted based on patient response. Maximum 150 mg/day.
Elderly
Lower starting dose recommended, e.g., 25 mg once daily, due to increased sensitivity and potential for adverse effects.
Renal_impairment
Caution advised; dosage reduction may be necessary. Start with 25 mg once daily.
How to Take
Take orally with water, with or without food. Do not chew or crush the capsule.
Mechanism of Action
Anxiorel works by binding to specific receptors in the brain, thereby enhancing the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that inhibits brain activity. This results in a calming effect on the central nervous system.

Excretion
Primarily excreted via the kidneys in urine as metabolites.
Half life
Approximately 8-12 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.
