Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Typically 5-20 mg once daily, adjusted based on patient response.
Elderly
Start with a lower dose, e.g., 2.5 mg, and titrate carefully.
Renal_impairment
Dosage adjustment required; significantly reduced in severe impairment.
How to Take
Take orally with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
Mechanism of Action
Reptylin acts as an ACE inhibitor, blocking the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. This leads to vasodilation and reduced aldosterone secretion, lowering blood pressure.
