Reumazin (Aceclofenac) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
100 mg twice daily, preferably with or after food.
Elderly
No dosage adjustment is generally required, but caution is advised due to increased risk of side effects.
Renal_impairment
Initial dose 100 mg once daily, with careful monitoring.
How to Take
Take orally with a glass of water, with or after food to minimize gastrointestinal upset.
Mechanism of Action
Aceclofenac acts primarily by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, leading to reduced inflammation, pain, and fever.

Excretion

Metabolism
Extensively metabolized in the liver, primarily by CYP2C9, into 4'-hydroxyaceclofenac and other metabolites.

- Third trimester of pregnancy
- History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs

Lithium
Increased plasma lithium levels.
Warfarin
Increased risk of bleeding.
Methotrexate
Increased methotrexate toxicity.
Corticosteroids
Increased risk of gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding.
Diuretics and ACE inhibitors
Reduced hypotensive effect and increased risk of renal impairment.
