Description
Overview of the medicine
Rupatadine is a non-sedating, long-acting antihistamine with selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist activity, used for symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis and urticaria.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
One 10 mg tablet once daily.
Elderly
No dose adjustment required for elderly patients.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution in patients with severe renal impairment.
How to Take
Oral. Can be taken with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Blocks peripheral H1 receptors, reducing histamine-mediated allergic symptoms. Also inhibits PAF (Platelet-Activating Factor) and mast cell degranulation.
