Overview of the medicine
Seroxyn 25 mcg Inhaler contains Seroxyl Hydrochloride, a short-acting beta-2 agonist (SABA) used to relieve symptoms of asthma and COPD, such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
2 actuations (50 mcg) as needed for symptom relief, up to 4 times daily. For exercise-induced bronchospasm, 2 actuations 15-30 minutes before exercise.
Elderly
No specific dose adjustment required, use with caution.
Renal_impairment
No dose adjustment required for mild to moderate renal impairment; use with caution in severe impairment.
How to Take
For oral inhalation only. Shake well before use. Prime the inhaler by spraying 2-4 test sprays into the air before first use or if not used for more than two weeks.
Mechanism of Action
Seroxyl Hydrochloride selectively stimulates beta-2 adrenergic receptors in the smooth muscle of the bronchial tubes, leading to bronchodilation. This relaxes the muscles, widening the airways and making it easier to breathe.

Contraindications

Drug Interactions
MAOIs and TCAs
May potentiate the cardiovascular effects of Seroxyn.
Diuretics (e.g., Furosemide)
May potentiate hypokalemia.
Beta-blockers (e.g., Propranolol)
Can block the bronchodilating effect of Seroxyn and may cause severe bronchospasm.
Storage
Store below 30°C. Protect from frost and direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
Overdose
Symptoms may include tachycardia, tremors, palpitations, headache, and nervousness. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive, usually involving discontinuation and observation.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing woman.
