Description
Overview of the medicine
Sinacet 5 mg Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and lower fever. It is commonly prescribed for conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, muscle pain, and dysmenorrhea.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
5 mg once or twice daily, or as directed by physician. Maximum recommended daily dose is 10 mg.
Elderly
Initiate with the lowest effective dose (e.g., 5 mg once daily) and monitor closely due to increased risk of adverse effects.
Renal_impairment
Dosage adjustment may be required. Use with caution in patients with moderate to severe renal impairment. Not recommended in severe renal failure.
How to Take
Take Sinacet 5 mg Tablet orally with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort. Do not crush or chew the tablet; swallow it whole.
Mechanism of Action
Sinacet works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, particularly COX-2, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are mediators of pain, inflammation, and fever, so by reducing their production, Sinacet alleviates these symptoms.

Within 30-60 minutes.
Excretion
Mainly excreted in the urine as metabolites, with a small portion in feces.
Half life
Approximately 6-8 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly and completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral administration.
Metabolism
Extensively metabolized in the liver, primarily via CYP2C9.
