Description
Overview of the medicine
Tolgrin contains Tolperisone, a centrally acting muscle relaxant used to treat pathological increased tone of skeletal muscles and muscle spasms.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Initially 50 mg three times daily, gradually increased to 150 mg three times daily according to patient's needs and tolerance.
Elderly
No special dosage adjustment needed, but caution advised.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution in moderate renal impairment, avoid in severe renal impairment.
How to Take
To be taken orally after meals, swallowed whole with water.
Mechanism of Action
Tolperisone acts on the central nervous system, inhibiting spinal reflex activity by stabilizing neuronal membranes and reducing excitability of primary afferent and motor neurons. It does not cause sedation.

Onset of action within 1-2 hours.
Excretion
Mainly excreted by the kidneys, primarily as metabolites.
Half life
Short half-life of about 1.5-2.5 hours.
Absorption
Well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, but undergoes extensive first-pass metabolism.
Metabolism
Extensively metabolized in the liver by cytochrome P450 enzymes.

- Myasthenia gravis
- Known hypersensitivity to tolperisone or its excipients
- Children below 18 years

Niflumic acid
Can slightly enhance the effect of Niflumic acid.

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture.
