Take Urilax 100 mg tablet orally after meals to minimize gastrointestinal upset. It should be taken with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Phenazopyridine is an azo dye that exerts a topical analgesic or local anesthetic effect on the mucosa of the urinary tract. It is excreted in the urine, where it produces its analgesic action on the bladder and urethral mucosa, thereby relieving pain, burning, urgency, and frequency.

• •Hypersensitivity to Phenazopyridine or any component of the formulation
• •Renal insufficiency or severe renal impairment (CrCl < 50 mL/min)
• •Hepatitis or other severe liver disease
• •Glomerulonephritis
• •Pyelonephritis during pregnancy

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Symptoms of overdose may include methemoglobinemia, hemolytic anemia, hepatic and renal impairment. Treatment is supportive; methylene blue may be used for methemoglobinemia.

Pregnancy category B. Should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. It is unknown if phenazopyridine is excreted in human milk; caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing mother.
