Virzith 500 mg Tablet is a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
For most infections: 500 mg once daily for 3 days, or 500 mg on day 1 followed by 250 mg daily on days 2-5.
Elderly
No dosage adjustment generally required unless severe renal or hepatic impairment.
Renal_impairment
Mild to moderate: No adjustment. Severe: Use with caution, consider dosage reduction.
How to Take
May be taken with or without food. To minimize gastrointestinal upset, it can be taken with food.
Mechanism of Action
Virzithromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby preventing translocation of peptides.
