Description
Overview of the medicine
Ancor Plus is a combination medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It combines amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker), valsartan (an angiotensin II receptor blocker), and hydrochlorothiazide (a thiazide diuretic).
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
One tablet once daily.
Elderly
Start with the lowest effective dose.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution; dosage adjustment may be needed.
How to Take
Take the tablet orally with or without food. Swallow whole; do not crush or chew.
Mechanism of Action
Amlodipine blocks calcium channels in the heart and blood vessels, causing vasodilation. Valsartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, preventing vasoconstriction. Hydrochlorothiazide promotes sodium and water excretion, reducing blood volume.

Contraindications

Drug Interactions
NSAIDs
May decrease the antihypertensive effect of valsartan.
Lithium
May increase lithium levels.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may include hypotension, bradycardia, and electrolyte disturbances. Treatment is supportive and symptomatic.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Contraindicated in pregnancy. Not recommended during breastfeeding.
