Overview of the medicine
Arotide (Erlotinib) is an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It is used for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer and pancreatic cancer.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
150 mg orally once daily in NSCLC; 100 mg orally once daily in pancreatic cancer
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment is recommended for elderly patients.
Renal_impairment
Use with caution in patients with severe renal impairment.
How to Take
Take orally once daily on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating.
Mechanism of Action
Erlotinib binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase, blocking phosphorylation and activation of the receptor, inhibiting cell signaling and proliferation.

Storage

Erlotinib is contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation. Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 1 month after the last dose.
