Overview of the medicine
Clavucure 250 mg Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic containing Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid, used to treat various bacterial infections.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
One Clavucure 250 mg tablet three times a day (every 8 hours) for 7-10 days, or as directed by physician.

How to Take
Take with food to minimize potential gastrointestinal intolerance. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Mechanism of Action
Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor, protecting Amoxicillin from degradation by beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria.
Pharmacokinetics
Onset
Rapid, within 30 minutes to 1 hour for antibacterial action.
Excretion
Primarily renal (glomerular filtration and tubular secretion) for Amoxicillin, both renal and non-renal for Clavulanic acid.
Half life
Approximately 1-1.5 hours for both components.
Absorption
Well absorbed orally, enhanced by food. Peak plasma concentrations reached within 1-2 hours.
Metabolism
Amoxicillin undergoes limited metabolism; Clavulanic acid is extensively metabolized.
Side Effects
Contraindications
- History of hypersensitivity to penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
