Lab Monitoring
- No routine lab monitoring typically required.
- Monitor for signs of urinary retention in elderly patients or those with prostatic hypertrophy.
Doctor Notes
- Counsel patients on potential anticholinergic side effects, especially dry mouth and blurred vision.
- Caution in elderly and patients with prostatic hypertrophy due to risk of urinary retention.
- Not effective for pain caused by inflammation or obstruction, only for spasm.
- Advise patients that onset of action is rapid for injection but slower for oral tablets.
