Overview of the medicine
Phloroglucinol is an antispasmodic agent used for symptomatic treatment of pain associated with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and biliary system. Also used in urological and gynecological spasms.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Usually 20-40 mg, 2-3 times daily, as directed by physician.
Elderly

How to Take
Oral. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Can be taken with or without food.
Mechanism of Action
Phloroglucinol acts directly on the smooth muscles of the digestive, biliary, urinary, and uterine tracts, reducing spasms without disrupting normal peristalsis. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins and other inflammatory mediators, thereby relieving pain and spasm.
