Overview of the medicine
Demacro is a lozenge containing Dequalinium Chloride, used for local treatment of oral and pharyngeal infections such as sore throat, stomatitis, and gingivitis.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
1 lozenge slowly dissolved in the mouth every 2-3 hours, up to a maximum of 8-10 lozenges per day.
Elderly
Same as adult dosage.
Renal_impairment
No specific dose adjustment needed due to minimal systemic absorption.
How to Take
Allow the lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth. Do not chew or swallow whole. Avoid eating or drinking immediately after administration to allow the active ingredient to work.

Dequalinium chloride is a quaternary ammonium compound with broad-spectrum bactericidal and fungicidal activity. It acts by disrupting bacterial cell membranes and inhibiting enzyme activity.
