Fexocon 30 mg Suspension is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, watery eyes, and skin rashes. It is particularly formulated for pediatric use.

Dosage
Adults
This suspension is primarily for pediatric use. Adults typically use tablet forms.
Elderly
No specific dose adjustment is generally required for elderly patients with normal renal function.
Renal_impairment
For patients with impaired renal function, a reduced initial dose of 30 mg once daily is recommended.
How to Take
Take orally, with or without food. Shake the bottle well before each use. Use the provided measuring cup or spoon for accurate dosing.
Mechanism of Action
Fexofenadine works by selectively blocking histamine H1-receptors, preventing the action of histamine which is responsible for allergic reactions. It is a non-sedating second-generation antihistamine.

Typically within 1 hour.
Excretion
Primarily excreted unchanged in the feces and a small portion in the urine.
Half life
11-15 hours.
Absorption
Rapidly absorbed. Peak plasma concentrations are reached in 1-3 hours. Food intake may slightly decrease the rate of absorption but not the overall extent.
Metabolism
Minimally metabolized (less than 5%).
Side Effects
Contraindications
- •Hypersensitivity to fexofenadine or any component of the formulation.
Drug Interactions
Erythromycin or Ketoconazole
May increase fexofenadine plasma concentrations, although this is generally not clinically significant.
Aluminum and Magnesium-containing Antacids
May decrease the absorption of fexofenadine. Administer at least 2-4 hours apart.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not freeze.
Overdose
In case of overdose, symptomatic and supportive treatment should be initiated. Fexofenadine is not effectively removed by hemodialysis. No specific antidote is available.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy Category C. Should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing mother as fexofenadine is excreted in human breast milk.
