Fluking 500 mg Capsule is an anthelmintic medication used to treat a variety of parasitic worm infections. It works by preventing the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), which depletes their energy stores and leads to their death.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Typically 400 mg once daily or 500 mg for specific indications, sometimes for 3 to 28 days depending on the infection.
Elderly
No specific dose adjustment required, but monitor renal/hepatic function.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment needed for mild to moderate impairment. Use with caution in severe impairment.
How to Take
Taken orally, preferably with a fatty meal to enhance absorption.
Mechanism of Action
Fluking selectively binds to beta-tubulin, a protein essential for microtubule formation in parasitic worms, but not as effectively in human cells. This disruption of microtubule polymerization impairs glucose uptake, causing depletion of glycogen stores, reduced ATP production, and ultimately the immobilization and death of the parasites.
