Description
Overview of the medicine
Libott-5 Injection is an anxiolytic medicine used for rapid relief of acute anxiety, agitation, and for short-term management of insomnia or pre-operative sedation.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Acute anxiety/agitation: 5-10 mg IM or slow IV, may be repeated every 4-6 hours if needed. Max 20 mg/day. Pre-operative: 2.5-5 mg IM 30-60 minutes before surgery.
Elderly
2.5-5 mg IM or slow IV, dose should be carefully titrated due to increased sensitivity and risk of side effects.
Renal_impairment
Dose adjustment may be necessary; use with caution. No specific guidelines, often start with lower doses.
How to Take
Administer intramuscularly (IM) deep into a large muscle mass, or slowly intravenously (IV) into a large vein.
Mechanism of Action
It works by enhancing the effect of a natural chemical in the body (GABA), which calms the brain and nerves, inducing a feeling of relaxation and sedation.

Excretion
Mainly excreted in urine as inactive metabolites.
Half life
6-10 hours.

Metabolism
Extensively metabolized in the liver, primarily via glucuronidation.
