Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
For most infections: 500 mg once daily for 3 days, or 500 mg on Day 1 followed by 250 mg once daily for 4 days. For Chlamydia: 1 g as a single dose.
Elderly
No specific dosage adjustment is generally needed, but monitor renal and hepatic function.
Renal_impairment
No dosage adjustment needed for mild to moderate renal impairment. Use with caution in severe renal impairment.
How to Take
Maczith capsules can be taken with or without food. For optimal absorption, some sources suggest taking it one hour before or two hours after a meal.

Antacids (containing aluminum or magnesium)
May decrease peak serum concentrations of azithromycin; take azithromycin at least 2 hours before or after antacids.
