Description
Overview of the medicine
Mirogabalin 15 mg tablet is used for the treatment of various types of neuropathic pain, such as diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain and postherpetic neuralgia.
Uses & Indications
Dosage
Adults
Initial dose is usually 5 mg twice daily or 10 mg once daily, titrated up to 15 mg twice daily based on individual response and tolerability.
Elderly
Dose adjustment may be required based on renal function. Initiate with lower doses.
Renal_impairment
Dosage should be adjusted based on creatinine clearance. Lower doses and/or less frequent administration may be necessary.
How to Take
Take orally with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water.
Mechanism of Action
Mirogabalin selectively binds to the α2δ-1 subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs) in the central nervous system, which is believed to reduce the release of excitatory neurotransmitters and alleviate neuropathic pain.
